JACKSON, MI — A busy street in a Jackson neighborhood will be closed for a day so crews can urgently repair a clogged sewer at a home.
S. Wisner Street between W. Morrell Street and Carlton Boulevard will be closed Tuesday, June 28 for repairs, city officials said, adding that while S. Wisner Street encompasses only one block of a residential neighborhood, the S. Wisner Street is seeing increased traffic as part of a construction detour at S. West Avenue.
The city’s engineering department is aware that adding another closure in the area could increase frustration for drivers, officials said, but a clogged sewer is a potential health hazard for local residents that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
The work is expected to be completed in a single day on Tuesday. Updates on this sewer repair will be posted on the city’s website and Facebook page.
