VIDEO: Snake wranglers battle pythons emerging from toilet

A python neatly hidden in a toilet recently gave snake catchers a hard time in Australia when the traditional approach failed and they had to go the extra mile to retrieve it.

MARYBOROUGH, Queensland – Snake control officers in Australia recently encountered a highly unusual plumbing problem after a pair of pythons decided to take a bath in a local toilet.

A plumber's worst nightmare has become a snake whisperer's dream job for Hervey Bay Snake Catchers in Queensland.

Drew Godfrey, a member of the team, initially thought the September 23 call to a Maryborough home was a simple case of a coastal carpet python in a toilet, but soon realized it was much more complicated.

The team's first attempt to unhook the python from the pipe failed. So they took matters into their own hands, or rather their saws, and scared the stubborn intruder away.

“Pain in the ass, you are, snake… You are in trouble, snake,” one of the snake catchers said in the nearly 12-minute video that documented the ordeal before the team finally got the snake out. “Had to cut out the pipe and everything.”

Unfortunately, the homeowner's ordeal wasn't over yet.

Just two days later, they had to call the same snake catchers again, this time for a much larger python.

However, that wasn't the end of the trouble for this customer, who had to call the catchers again two days later to get another python.

Fortunately, the second tenant, although much larger, was much easier to evict.

Fortunately, this second tenant was more cooperative and did not require plumbing repairs.
