A three-year-old boy has tragically died after falling into his neighbor's septic tank.
According to ABC 45 News, the child was playing with his four-year-old brother outside their home in Lakewood, Washington on Sunday.
According to reports, the grandmother regularly checked on the couple, but at some point the three-year-old went into the neighbor's garden and took the lid off the aquarium.
His brother alerted the grandmother when the younger child fell in, and she called 911 at around 2:21 p.m. The child's body was recovered at 3:05 p.m.
The tragedy occurred just two days after a two-year-old boy from Northumberland County, Virginia, died in a similar incident.

Three-year-old Kenna Wilson died in December 2023 after falling into a septic tank. Her mother, Jill Humphries, was devastated.
According to WTVR News, the two-year-old boy managed to open the lid of a septic tank near his home on September 6 before falling in.
His father pulled him out and tried to resuscitate him.
At around 3:50 p.m. the police were called and the child was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp told WWBT News, “When emergency responders arrived, the child had already been recovered from a septic tank and CPR was underway.”
“The emergency services took the child to a local hospital. Despite all efforts, the child died in the hospital.”
Every year, about 50 children die from falls into septic tanks

In December 2023, an Indiana mother attempted to press charges against her niece, who worked as a babysitter, after her three-year-old daughter was found dead in a septic tank while in her care.
The child, Kenna Wilson, is said to have ripped off the lid of a septic tank and either fallen into it or intentionally climbed in.
Ripley County District Attorney Ric Hertel said at the time that he could understand Jill Humphries' disappointment that no charges had been filed against the underage babysitter.
But even though he was “sympathetic to her,” there were “some situations that amounted to terrible accidents,” he added.
According to The Beasley Firm, about 50 children die each year from falling into septic tanks.
