Water service shutdown scheduled for portion of Kaumuali’i Highway in Hanapepe : Kauai Now

A water supply shutdown is scheduled for Wednesday to allow contractor Pipeworks to install a branch line along the Kaumuali’i Highway between Kona and Puna streets in Hanapepe.

Approximately seven customers are affected and will be notified via door-to-door notification. Weather permitting, the work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To prepare for a water supply shutdown, customers are advised to take the following steps:

• Store water to meet their needs until the water supply can be safely restored.
• Notify neighbors, family and friends who may be affected by the planned service disruption.
• Those with faulty water heaters should make sure their water heaters don’t drain during the shutdown.
