Welsh Water implement new innovative camera system to survey underground pipes

This new process is approximately three times faster and a far smoother process for teams. Employees spend less time on highways and busy roads, resulting in a safer working environment. In addition, teams have seen cost savings of up to 74% per inspection and a reduction in carbon costs of up to 92% per inspection.

Key stakeholders from Welsh Water, API, AVK and Morrison Utility Services came together in November 2021 to demonstrate and showcase the advanced technology.

This project was part of the not-for-profit company's multi-million pound investment in 'Zonal Studies' to improve services for customers and help protect the environment. The company will invest a further £1.8 billion across the country between 2020 and 2025.
