West Seattle Blog… | FOLLOWUP: Cormorant Cove beach reopened after four weeks

Four weeks after the health/water quality authorities were closed Cormorant Cove Park‘s beach due to water pollution from a private sewer line connection, the beach can finally be reopened. Seattle Public Utilities speaker Sabrina Register informs WSB that the warning signs will be removed. Cormorant Cove on the 3700 block of Beach Drive SW was the last area to reopen. The original closure extended all the way from Alki Point to the SW Andover beach access, and most of it was cleared to reopen a week and a half ago. However, at the time, SPU said that during the leak Port West resolved, unexplained bacterial concerns remained at Cormorant Cove.
