Whanganui’s Louis Devine takes out the top spot in regional final for Plumbing World Young Plumber of the Year Competition 2024

Louis Devine of Thompson Plumbing & Gas Limited, Whanganui, is delighted to have taken first place in the final of the 2024 Plumbing World Young Plumber of the Year 2024 competition in the lower North Island and will now move on to the national final to be held will take place on Wednesday, October 23rd in Hamilton.
The regional final took place at Awapuni Racecourse in Palmerston North. Devine competed against eight other plumbers from Masterton, Hawke's Bay, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Levin and Kāpiti Coast, with Wellington being excluded.
“It was pretty exciting to be there for the third time,” Devine said. “I had an advantage because I had done it before. When they told me I had won I was pretty happy – there was a close result between first and second.
“My wife and my employer Jed Thompson were both there cheering me on, it was pretty fun,” he said.
He walked away with a drill set and tools as a prize.
