“The Chinese youth should cultivate an aspiring spirit, hold fast to ideals, hold fast to beliefs, be brave enough to face difficulties and move forward, and work hard, relentlessly,” Xi said during a Beijing University inspection tour in the Chinese Capital.
He called on young people to connect their ideals closely with the future of the country and to work for a national renewal.
From the methane tank to the Chinese dream
Xi found what he wanted to do at a young age while working in a small village in the northwest China Shaanxi Province.
In 1969, 15-year-old Xi arrived in Liangjiahe Village as part of a campaign that saw tens of millions of educated youths living and working in the city in the countryside. He spent almost seven years there and discovered his lifelong mission – to make a difference in the service of people.
Xi resigned from the Communist Party. at China (CPC) in 1974. He then became party secretary of Liangjiahe and led the villagers on a number of projects that benefited local residents, including building a dam, methane tank, sewing workshop, consignment warehouse and mill.
Xi traveled to the neighboring country to build methane tanks that could supply the villagers with gas for their stoves and lights Sichuan Province to get to know the techniques. When he returned to Liangjiahe, he found that the practice was more difficult than the theory.
“The digging of the first methane tank was difficult,” he recalled in a 2004 interview. “The water around the tank kept rising, but there was no trace of gas. The problem turned out to be a clogged line. When we finally cleared the obstacle, the pipe splashed crap in my face. Gas immediately started bubbling, so we quickly connected the pipe to the furnace. A flame over 30 cm high rose above our methane stove. “
In another interview in 2003, Xi summed up how he was influenced by the Liangjiahe experience: “I saw the power of people and the foundation of their lives. It was then that I really began to understand people and society.”
During his political career in different parts of China, Xi kept and strengthened his relationships with people and tried to improve their lives. After becoming a leader at the national level, he called on the entire party and people to work together better China.
“Fulfilling people’s desire for a happy life is our mission,” Xi said at a press meeting after his election as general secretary of the CCP Central Committee November 2012.
Two weeks later, he brought up the concept of the Chinese Dream when visiting an exhibition on “The Road to Renewal”. He said the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the country’s greatest dream in modern times.
in the June 2019, the party leadership launched a nationwide education campaign among the CCP’s 90 million members, urging them to remain true to the party’s original pursuit and founding mission – to seek happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
New generations join the mission
Today, more and more young Chinese are joining the mission to create a better future for their country and people.
Commentator for current affairs Einar Tangen said young Chinese are waking up and wanting to actively participate in the country’s development.
“I think a lot of young people woke up and said, ‘Listen, if … China It will move forward, it will take the best of our generation. And I want to be part of it, ‘”Tangen told CGTN in a recent interview.
“Much of the company’s economic success has come about over the past 40 years. You are proud of how far China has come, “he added.
“As a young generation, we are responsible for the times,” said Zhu Yuhuilan, a student at Peking University. “We will take our responsibility and achieve success.”
As young generations devote themselves to ambitious goals, China can take on various challenges on his way more confidently – be it the fight against poverty, the fight against COVID-19 or the transformation of his growth model.
