Woman reveals simple hack to get sink draining again after horrendous hair build-up leaves it clogged for a YEAR

One WOMAN was forced to turn to TikTok after getting tired of her sink that was clogged for a full year – and what she learned was a quick and easy trick to drain it in the blink of an eye.

TikTok user Annie (@badhomeowner) confessed that her sink has hardly been drained since she moved in over 12 months ago, thanks to a large build-up of hair in the plug.

In a video that has now been viewed over 5.4 million times online, she revealed how quickly water backed up in her sink and how every trick she had tried didn’t work.

“Our sink has been clogged since we moved into our house a year ago,” Annie explained. “After seeing CleanTok, I decided to do something about it.”

She continued, “We tried to use a sewage weasel … nothing.”

While the sewage weasel moved part of the sediment and hair got stuck in the plug, the water still did not drain away.

Similarly, Draino – a U.S. drain cleaner – hadn’t worked, and Annie resorted to baking soda and white vinegar to see if that could shake the debris.

The simple method some cleaning fans swear by seemed to bring out even more hair, but it was a recommendation from a viewer that really got to the bottom of the clog.

They advised, “There’s a hook under your sink that holds the plug in place. Unhooking it also helps with clogging.”

In a follow-up video, Annie filmed herself unplugging the plug from the sink – which meant it could be pulled all the way out, revealing the mountain of hair that had wrapped around the floor and was causing the clog.

Finally able to remove it and thoroughly clean the plug, Annie thanked the person for helping her “really fix” her sink and later shared another video showing her sink draining normally again .

“Wow, okay. BIG difference, ”she enthused.

That was enough to convince others to try the trick for themselves, with one woman revealing, “I’ve been bothering my fiancé to clean our sink for over a month and I just did it and it worked! They have no idea how excited “I should tell him.”

Another said, “Hell, that was a problem in my home and it only took me five minutes to clean.”

A third wrote, “I had the same problem and I removed the part. No more clogs … lol.”

Another added, “Wow tried it this morning and it worked! It was a mess in there but now we’re good to go!”
