About a month and a half ago, Florida homeowners Brian and Cathy's lives changed forever — but not in ways neither of them ever expected.
It all started one day when they were using their bathroom sink.
They discovered that someone unexpected was also using it.

It turns out that a small frog had somehow managed to get into the sanctuary of Brian and Cathy's sink through an outdoor pipe.
He had made himself very comfortable in the overflow hole of the sink – and had no desire to leave it.
Cathy was the first to notice him.
“My wife screamed when she first saw the head sticking through the overflow hole,” Brian told The Dodo. “We believe it entered our plumbing through a toilet vent on our roof, which is common in Florida.”
At first Brian and Cathy thought the frog might be stuck, but as the days went by they found evidence that it had actually gotten lost.
So the couple tried their best to lure him out.
Brain and Cathy posted about the frog – which they named Sinkfrog – on social media, where his sink-living lifestyle quickly went viral. However, much to the couple's dismay, it remained holed up in their sink.
“We had to clear the sink because it was a guest bathroom and our adult son was coming to visit,” Brain said. “My wife is an animal lover of all kinds and didn’t want to hurt Sinkfrog.”
Luckily, after several weeks in the sink, Sinkfrog finally decided to step outside.
After about six weeks, Brian and Cathy finally got a clear look at Sinkfrog. That's when they were able to determine it was a Cuban tree frog – a species considered invasive in Florida. That meant it would be irresponsible to just let him go.
“We either had to euthanize Sinkfrog or keep him,” Brian said.
The couple decided to keep him.
Brian and Cathy bought a large terrarium for Sinkfrog, who to them had become more than just a frog that had been living in their sink.
“After we freed Sinkfrog, we were able to observe and interact with him, which helped build a bond between us,” Brian said. “He’s fine now.”
Brian and Cathy had spent so long with Sinkfrog in their sink that it was a little difficult for them to imagine him in any other way.
“I still look into that hole every time I go to the toilet looking for a little head,” Brian said. “Then I remember Sinkfrog living large in his new terrarium.”
